The HOPE BOX
The August 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit was designed to make 9 cards of encouragement as well as a beautiful box of hope to store your treasures in. I took the gorgeous colorful pieces in the kit and created a wide variety of cards.
In today’s post, I will be sharing not only photos of the cards but also video links that you can watch to learn how to make all of them.
My first project was this simple and elegant Sympathy Card.
The laser cut piece is so colorful when used right side up! To create a different look simply glue the white side down and stamp a celebratory sentiment.
Here’s a video tutorial where you can learn to make this project.
Since this kit was all about sending cards of HOPE, I wanted to make a card I could pass out at the Cancer Center. I got out my retired Support Ribbon Dies and my Scallop Contour Dies and I came up with this card that represents breast cancer awareness.
Since I am a survivor of Lymphoma, I wanted to create a card to encourage those struggling with that type of cancer. So, I created the same card using shades of Granny Apple Green as green is the color that represents Lymphoma.
I think this simple card would look beautiful in any color, don’t you? You can see both cards and more by clicking the video tutorial below.
Project number three was designed with my friend Laura DuBois in mind. We have an inside joke about the word “hello” so I couldn’t resist creating this HOLA card for Laura since she speaks spanish.
The Paper Pumpkin kit only comes with one yellow tag and three yellow flowers, so I created a second sample using my own custom tag that I stamped with the flower image from the kit. The butterflies and white tag came right out of the kit too! I just flipped them all around to highlight the white side.
Here’s a quick video to learn how to make this card.
The yellow pieces on the card above were meant to be on the outside of the HOPE BOX along with this huge beautiful butterfly. I used the large butterfly and put in on a card instead. This card is really pretty in person because when you move it you can see the shine from the window sheet that I placed under the front panel of the card.

Well, I usually save my favorite projects for last.
If you hear singing coming from my studio while I’m working, it’s highly likely that I may be creating mermaid cards.
Here are three mermaid cards I created using the August 2021 Hope Box Kit.
To learn how I created this little mermaid card as well as take a closer look at the other cards pictured above, click on this video tutorial.
Well, I certainly HOPE that you enjoyed seeing the wide variety of cards I made with the August 2021 Hope Box kit. I really LOVE Paper Pumpkin and I love the challenge of taking the pieces in the kit and using them to create projects that will be used to offer support, love, encouragement and hope.
Of all the cards I created, which is your favorite? Leave a comment to let me know.
Have a blessed weekend everyone!
With Faith, Hope and Love,
Cindy
