So Beary Comforting

I’ve been a bit behind in posting projects and videos because as the end of the year drew near, I started to not feel well. My main symptom was weakness and tiredness. Then stress set in as I contemplated my scheduled surgery on January 15th to have my port removed. I wondered, “what if my tiredness is because the cancer is back?” I found myself worrying way more than I ever did when I actually was diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma.

I am thankful to have friends and family who inquired about my health and surrounded me with prayers and words of encouragement. Having this support system brings me so much comfort. I am also happy to say that I did some tests and visited my doctor and all of my reports came back that I am in great health. So, I am moving forward with peace in my heart to remove my port this week.

Now that my energy and strength have returned, I am excited to share with you 10 different projects that I created with the So Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin Kit. I have a lot to share, so I’ll get right into it.

Project #1 is this Mama Bear card. All of these pieces came from the punch out images in the Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin kit. I divided the Koala bears so they could be placed on opposite sides of Mama bear. This would be a cute card for someone celebrating a birthday or having twins.

Project #2 features this sweet bear holding a heart. I love the sentiment, “you are on my mind”. I will use it on many of the projects I’ll be showing you today.

Bears weren’t the only critters in the Paper Pumpkin Kit. There were also raccoons. Project #3 is this mask wearing Raccoon card.

The inside of the card features two more socially distanced Raccoons with an appropriate sentiment from our new Heal Your Heart Saleabration Stamp set.

Project #4 is this adorable shave ice bear. I’ve been wanting to make a punch art shave ice for awhile now. We have a brand new Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch that helped me in this effort.

Beary Comforting Shave Ice Bear

You’ve seen a lot of cards that I created with the punch outs, let’s take a look at what I did with the stamp set. I’m so HAPPY to have this cute little bear stamp.

Beary Comforting Shave Ice Bear Card

In this sample above I moved away from the pieces that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit and added my own supplies. I used the Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper to layer behind the bear and then used the colors in the paper to inspire the color template for this bears shave ice.

Thinking of shave ice made me think of surfing and how great a shave ice tastes after being in the ocean. So, I created a surfer bear card for Project #6. This card also uses the Playing With Patterns DSP.

For Project #7 I moved away from the cards and made a treat box instead. This is one of our new Love You Always Treat boxes found on page 11 of our new Mini Catalog. I knew I wanted the bear to be holding a pineapple but I couldn’t find the right size pineapple stamp. So, this gave me the opportunity to create another new punch art project. To learn how I created this cute little punch art pineapple, watch the video tutorial at the end of this post.

What makes this cute little box even more fun is the sweet gummy pineapples that are hidden on the inside.

Project #8 is this Get Well card. It features the same stamped background that I created on the box. It also has a stitched heart that I die cut from the Be Mine Stitched Dies, which are one of my favorites.

Project #9 is my Thankful Bear Note card. This card features the Flower and Field Designer Paper that is a part of our annual Saleabration special.

I always save my favorite for last. Here is card #10 my Dancing Hula Bear Card.

This simple but adorable card is actually a motion card. I added a little “spring” behind her using some floral wire. To learn how to make this card or any of the projects I shared with you today, watch the following video tutorial.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post today. I hope that these projects will inspire your creativity in this New Year where sending cards of love, encouragement and comfort are needed more than ever!

I am comforted by the love and encouragement so many of you send me on a regular basis. I ask for you prayers as I go in for my surgery this Friday. I pray that all will go well as I continue to walk in victory thanking God for his miraculous healing.

Sending “Virtual” Hugs of comfort to each and every one of you,

Cindy
