Hope and Encouragement

It was exactly a year ago today that I was leaving the Cancer Center after my final chemo treatment. Sonia, the Cancer Center greeter hugged me tightly as I celebrated what I hoped would be the end of my Lymphoma battle.

During this past year, I visit the cancer center monthly for check ups. I still see Sonia but sadly there are no more hugs like this!

Now when I enter the Cancer Center, I am greeted with a sanitizing station and a temperature check. Sonia is there but I only see her eyes above her face mask. Although this is quite a contrast to how I was greeted a year ago, I am grateful that Sonia has not let this pandemic crush her spirit. She continues to bless each person coming through the door with her words of hope and encouragement.

The other day I received hope and encouragement through an unexpected surprise. My friend Karin dropped off a gift for me from her Mom who is from Seattle. Karin’s Mom blessed me with an adorable Seattle Seahawks snowman cause she knows I am a huge fan. Although I LOVED the cute snowman it was the words of hope and encouragement written in her card that really made my day. Little did she know that it arrived during a time when I really needed to be encouraged.

Below is the thank you card I made for Karin’s Mom. I created it with the Snowman Season stamp set. I think this little snowman is extra happy because the Seahawks won the NFC Championship last week!!

I am grateful for people like Karin’s Mom and Sonia who inspire me to bless others with hope and encouragement.

As 2020 draws to a close, I think we can all agree its been a year like no other. So, let’s look forward to 2021 and remember that spreading Hope and Encouragement is something that a pandemic can’t stop. It’s something that we need more now than ever before. We can share it without having to be within 6 feet of one another and we can give it even if we are wearing a face mask!!!

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

I wish you all a Happy New Year filled with faith, hope, love and many blessings,

Cindy
