A Happy Heart!
I received an amazing gift for Mother’s Day last year. It was a Skylight digital photo frame. It has its own email address where friends and family can send photos. With the pandemic happening, this gift has been even more special as it helps keep us connected virtually. Each day as I pass by it, It makes my heart happy to see the gallery of precious memories being shown on the screen.
Several months ago, my daughter called me and asked if I had gotten the photos she emailed to the frame. With her on the phone, I went to the frame and clicked the button to download them. There I found two photos from our summer trip to Greece. “I see them”, I told her and we remised about the special time we shared. A couple minutes later we were about to say goodbye and she said, “Wait, Mom, I found one more you’re gonna love”. So, I clicked the button expecting to see another vacation photo when all of a sudden an unexpected photo popped up. It was one of her and her husband Brett smiling brightly while holding an ultrasound picture.
I cried tears of joy as I realized, our 2nd grand baby was on the way!
I am so happy for Brett and Jess. This will be their first child and they are expecting a sweet baby girl.
Jessica’s Aunty Cindy of Zoe, Hawaii helped me plan a virtual baby shower. Cindy and I love planning events together. We brainstormed ways to make the shower special even though it was going to be virtual. With help from Brett’s mom Renette and Jessica’s friends from church, Grace and Kyllie, we divided the guest list to 4 separate parties to make the virtual experience a bit more intimate. We also packed little party boxes that we mailed to our guests. The box contained everything our guests would need for the party. There were game cards, a pencil, treats and of course one of Cindy’s amazing cookie creations!
Even though the party was virtual, it was really fun. One thing that made it extra special is that family and friends from all over the world were able to join us. There were even guests there from Canada and Japan!
My Sweet Shave Ice card was inspired by this special event. This card is a little larger than a standard card. The base measures 7 x 7 1/2 inches. You can’t tell in the photo but I used Laura’s Tape Technique on the shave ice portion. So when you move this card the shave ice looks shimmery and shiny and good enough to eat!
If you want to learn how to create this card, I have a video tutorial you can watch by clicking the link below.
Their sweet baby girl is due to arrive within the next 3 weeks. Due to the pandemic my husband and I won’t have the privilege of being at the hospital which is hard for us to imagine. However, we will be there in spirit will be praying for our little girl as she prepares to give birth to her little girl.
If you know my story, you know that not too long ago I wondered if I’d be alive to one day meet my grandchildren. So, I consider myself doubly blessed to have not just met one but to now be here healthy, happy and ready to welcome #2. I am truly grateful for God’s goodness and faithfulness to me.
With a happy heart,
Cindy, aka Nana
