We're In This Together
Right now, the whole world is facing uncharted territory! The spread of the Corona Virus has all of our attention and it has affected many people in the same way, around the globe. When it comes to challenging seasons, such as the one we are in right now, there are a lot of unknowns! People handle situations like this in different ways There are some who are filled with hope, feeling peaceful and optimistic. There are others are stressed, fearful and worried about the unknown. I bet there are also those who are mad at how this virus has disrupted their plans!! My heart goes out to anyone who had to cancel their weddings, senior year activities or who have lost their jobs! I also feel for those who have lost loved ones to the virus! My thoughts and prayers go out to all who are suffering.
Although there are extemely challenging things happening all around us, I am doing my best to focus on the positive and the good. I also want to be an encouragement to those who are struggling and remind them that they are not alone! We really all are in this together!
This week I’ve been using this time of isolation to focus on stepping out of my comfort zone when it comes to creating stamping tutorial videos. My friend Laura and I have been talking a lot this week. Laura is a demonstrator from the East Coast and one of the first people to join my team 20 years ago. Like me, Laura has similar fears about sharing her projects online. Laura’s projects are SO incredibly beautiful, they need to be shared. So, with the realization that we both have similar goals, we’ve encouraged and challenged each other this week to complete one video.
For my challenge, I chose to create a Paper Pumpkin video. My plan was to open this month’s kit, make a sample of what was inside and then use the supplies to come up with an alternate project. I had to smile when I opened up the kit and read the image on one of the stamp sets. It said, “No matter the weather, we’re in this together”
Kind of a perfect message to share with people right now, isn’t it?
Here are the cards that were a part of this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit.
Card number 1 features that sentiment that I just talked about. I love the contrast of the stormy sky and the bright green grass. It made me think of how after a rainstorm, the grass and trees look a little greener!
Card number 2 has a powerful message, one that all of us can be encouraged by in this season. It says, “You are CAPABLE of AMAZING Things” Do you believe that? It’s True!
Card number 3 is this sweet card pictured below. The message is our call to action in this season and that is to, “Let LOVE Grow”.
I took all the supplies in the kit and came up with a different way to use them to create this card of love and encouragement.
Guess what? I also completed my goal!!! Yay! Doing a happy dance that it’s done. You can watch the video by clicking on the link below. This video shows how I created the revamped Paper Pumpkin card pictured above.
I hope that you are all doing well and staying safe. My prayer is that answers will be found soon to put an end to this pandemic. In the mean time, stay encouraged. The Bible says that when you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. So if you are feeling worried or anxious, call on Him and allow Him to surround you with His love and peace. Remember you are not alone, we are all in this together.
With love and prayers,
Cindy
