Sending JOY

When I opened up my October 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit I was really impressed with the beautiful card bases and punch outs that were a part of this kit. I also LOVED that the sentiments in this kit said, “SENDING JOY” as I think now more than ever, we need to do just that!!

Sometimes working on a Paper Pumpkin kit can be a challenge, especially if you are trying to create “alternative” projects! This kit however, was a breeze!!! I loved every minute of working with it!!!

The first card I made was this PEACE card.

I didn’t add any extra card stock pieces on this card. The only additional thing I added was Clear Rhinestone Jewels. They are hard to see in this picture because I colored them with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Marker and adhered them to the berry clusters.

My next two cards were created with the addition of the Playful Alphabet Dies as well as some extra card stock pieces.

I love how by die cutting the word “JOY” from the gold banner on the right, I was able to create the card on the left. This card featured a stamped wreath that I colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers and adorned with colored Jewel Rhinestones.

When it came to the next alternative project, I couldn’t stop smiling. This card definitely was THE ONE that brought me the most JOY!

What do you think? Did she make you SMILE?

When I saw the sweater paper in this kit, I immediately thought of using it to create an actual sweater. I also LOVED the flower punch out and knew just what to do with it. I mean come on! I would totally wear a floral hair accessory like that, wouldn’t you?

Of course when I create punch art people, I often like to make them a friend. So here is the joyful punch art pal I created for the card above.

For this little cutie I used most of the same punches except for the hair. I added the Gift Bow Punch to give this little gal a fancy up-do. I also cut up one of the punch out wreaths and added it to her sweater to give the appearance of a heavily adorned Christmas Sweater with matching hair accessory.

Do you notice anything about their smiles?

Their faces were stamped with one of the “face” images in the Cute Fruit Stamp Set. I used a black pen to draw a line and make their smiles bigger so these two would look even MORE JOYFUL!!!

If you’d like to learn how to create these cards, you can watch my video tutorial here.

I have to admit, I was pretty sad when I used up all the pieces in the October kit! However, I didn’t let that situation steal my joy. Instead, I looked through the catalog to see what other stamp set I could use to create a similar card. I found the perfect set, It was called Peace and Joy!

I took the Joyful Pal I had created using the October Paper Pumpkin kit and used it as my inspiration to create two MORE punch art pals. These two were actually created with real friends in mind. Friends whom I want to send a JOYFUL message to this week. Are you ready to meet them?

Meet Lynsay and Sarah.

Punch Art Pals, Lynsay and Sarah

I designed these two with the thought that they were getting dressed up for a Holiday Party. Of course the party will be on ZOOM so it’s really important to have over the top sweaters and hair accessories to look extra festive on the screen.

Let’s meet Sarah.

Punch Art Party Pal (SARAH)

Isn’t she beautiful? She sure is, both INSIDE and OUT! My favorite thing about her is her bedazzled sweater that was created with Tis The Season Designer Series Paper and Red Rhinestone Jewels. I also added some Gilded Gems for buttons and earrings. I used the Label Me Lovely Punch for part of her hair. This was a new punch for me to use with punch art but I love how it gave Sarah such beautiful volume and texture to her lovely hair-do!

Let’s meet Lynsay,

Punch Art Party Pal (LYNSAY)

Well, what is not to love about her, right?? If you follow my blog then you probably know what a dear friend Lynsay is to me. We have traveled the world together and experienced many adventures. Gosh, what I wouldn’t give to be wearing a matching ugly sweater with her right now to join her at whatever holiday party she is having. Of course the party is at her house, where its always a lot of fun to be!

Lynsay’s sweater was also made out of the Tis The Season Designer Series Paper. My favorite part of creating Lynsay was doing her hair. Lynsay has a really cute pixie cut. So, it was fun to discover a new way to do this type of hair with punches. I used the Tailored Tag punch to create her hairstyle. To learn how I created both Lynsay and Sarah, watch the video tutorial below.

As you can see, I experienced a lot of JOY creating in my studio over the past few days. So, now it’s time for me to spread some of that JOY by sending some of my creations to bless, brighten and encourage someones day!

I encourage you to do the same because when you spread joy to others, it will make you feel joyful too!

With Hugs and Joyful Wishes,

Cindy
