Tropical Paper Crafting Part 1

Learn how to create a Pineapple and Palm Tree Card!

I love creating tropical papercraft projects. Recently I designed a series of projects for my Tropical Paper Crafting Pa’ina. The word Pa’ina means “party” so hosting a tropical-themed party was a lot of fun for me.

I want to share with you the cute “out-of-the-box” pineapple card and palm tree card I designed for this event.

Let’s Begin With The Pineapple Card

This pineapple card was designed using products from the He’s The Man Suite. I used the dies from that suite to cut the pineapple shape. The base of the pineapple was made with the Specialty Designer Paper in the suite. I used a blending brush to change the color of the designer paper.

When you look at the projects in this series you will see how I used many of the same products. It’s hard to tell in this photo but I used Laura’s Tape Technique on most of the projects. Watch the video tutorial to learn how to master this technique.

Project 2: Palm Tree Card

Blending Brushes were the perfect tool to create the look of sand and sky. I used Palm Dies to die-cut the tree. This set has little coconuts that I could have die-cut but instead, I choose to add embellishments to create a cluster of coconuts.

My favorite card from this class was an anthurium card. I am really excited to share that card with you along with the story of how a recent trip to Hilo inspired it’s creation. I’ll share that in the next post.

Until then, Aloha!

Cindy
