The video showcases several cap and gown design variations, so you can find the perfect style for your graduate. Plus, I teach you how to take a craft punch and alter the shapes; I promise it will give you a new way of viewing the punches in your craft room! Watch for inspiration…
All of these cards were made using the Stampin’ Up! Cap and Gown stamp set which is an online exclusive. When I created my prototype card for a University of Hawaii graduate, I used the Double Oval punch for her face, hair, and body. Here is how the card came out.
When I discovered that the Double Oval Punch had been retired from our catalog, I decided to recreate this card using the Cutest Cow Builder Punch. To my amazement, I was able to craft the entire body with just this one punch and a pair of scissors for a few minor adjustments.
The biggest difference is seen in the hair.
The lei on this card was created using two new die sets that are perfect for making leis: the Unbounded Love Die Set and the Flowers of Beauty Dies. Both sets are part of the Unbounded Beauty Suite, featured on page 54 of our 2024-2025 annual catalog.
When making this card for a Hawaii graduate, you can pile on as many lei as you want in various colors. If lei giving is not a part of your graduation traditions, you can remove it, as seen in this card I made for a young man who is graduating from a school in New York next month.
Since the cap and gown are a stamp, you can personalize a card with any school colors by simply changing your ink pad and card stock colors.
I had so much fun creating this card, and I hope you like it too! Congrats to all of the graduates of the class of 2024.
With love and blessings,
Cindy
