Bloom Where You're Planted
What do you think of when you hear the words, Bloom Where You’re Planted?
This phrase made me think of my Mom’s torch ginger flowers. For years my Mom watered her flowers and although they grew slightly, they never really blossomed and often got damaged from the wind. This past year my Mom decided to move them to a different corner in her yard. This time they were away from the wind and placed in a deep trench of fresh soil.
What happened next was amazing! After years of trying to get this plant to bloom, it took off. The plant grew taller than her house and incredible flowers started blooming everywhere.
I asked my Mom to send me a picture of her flowers to share and she sent me this photo of one she had picked this morning to bring into her house.
Isn’t it beautiful?
Last week I had a class called Bloom Where You’re Planted, in which I taught 3 fancy fold cards. It was a virtual class that featured products from the Bloom Where You’re Planted Suite pictured on page 80 of the May 2021 to April 2022 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.
Today, I want to share with all of you not only photos of the projects but also video tutorials as well! That way you can see how fabulous this new trendy bundle of products is.
Project one was a Triple Panel Card.
I love cards that stand on their own, don’t you?
The back of the card has the perfect place to write a neatly lined message that gets hidden when you fold the card to mail it.
Here is a video tutorial you can follow to make this card.
Project number 2 was an easel card.
This card also stands up by just adding a simple fold. Like all of the projects in this series, this card features the Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP, Tailored Tag Punch, Genial Gems and the Plentiful Plants Bundle.
Project number 3 is the final project in my class. It was a Tri fold card that I learned from the amazing Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Patty Bennett.
This card features a large piece of the Bloom Where You’re Planted Paper. After it’s folded in a creative way you get to enjoy seeing BOTH sides of the designer paper on this fun card.
I added a little gift card pocket to the second panel using my Tailored Tag punch in a unique way. If you’d like to see how I made it, you can watch the video tutorial below.
I want to end today’s post with a word of encouragement.
Some of you may be reading this and you can relate to my Mom’s torch ginger flower before it was moved. The ground is hard, the wind and waves of live are tossing you around and you aren’t growing.
If that’s you I would encourage you to pray and ask God for help. He can change your circumstances in a moment. He can also give you wisdom and direction to help you take steps that will lead you to a place where you can grow and blossom to be all He’s created you to be!
Life is unpredictable and full of challenges. It’s tough to stay positive and hopeful. No matter where you are at today, know that I am praying for you to begin to take steps of growth that will lead you to a place where you can continue to bloom wherever you are planted. Remember with God’s help, all things are possible.
With love and blessings,
Cindy
