Hey Girlfriend Cozy Crafting Class

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE planning themed parties and events. So when I saw the stamp set Hey Girlfriend for the first time, I immediately thought of how fun it would be to have a class that celebrated the blessing of friendship!

This kit for my class was “cozy” because each one came with a surprise pair of fuzzy socks and a bag of cozy chamomile tea.

I designed 3 projects to teach at the class. In addition to the adorable Hey Girlfriend stamp set, all of the projects featured the Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper and the Heart Punch Pack. The featured Dies in the class were the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and the Be Mine Stitched Dies.

Here is the first card I taught at the class, it is a Z-fold card.

Hey Girlfriend Z Fold Card

I love this sentiment, “You can count on me”. It’s such a powerful message and one that is sure to encourage and bless whomever you send this card to!

The second card I taught was a fun fold card with a pocket for a gift card.

When you open this card, it looks like this.

This class was more of an event because in addition to making projects there were also other fun treats and surprises.

One of the fun treats at the class was having demonstrator April Lopez join us.

April Lopez via ZOOM from Texas

Did you know that Hey Girlfriend was designed by April as a part of her reaching her one million dollars in career sales back in 2019? It was wonderful to hear April share the inspiration behind the stamp set, as well as learn a little more about her journey with Stampin’ Up! April also shared several really fun project samples that were made with her set.

The final project we made was a box.

Hey Girlfriend Treat Box

This matchbox style box is one of our new Love You Always Treat Boxes. These boxes are sturdy and easy to assemble which made putting this project together quick and simple.

After playing some games and giving out prizes, it was time to introduce our mystery guest. Everyone was delighted that our mystery guest my dear friend Cindy Ontai of Zoe, Hawaii. Many of you know her as the Cookie Lady from our Cookie and Card Collaborations!

Our Mystery Guest, Cindy Ontai

Cindy demonstrated how to make Muddy Buddy Mix. She melted chocolate, butter and peanut butter and mixed it into Rice Chex cereal. Then she added some vanilla and covered the mix in tons of powered sugar. I was there in the kitchen as her assistant. As I was stirring the mix she shared how to stamp the Hey Girlfriend image onto a cookie. WOW… that was just a little added bonus from Cindy and we were all amazed by this fun idea.

When the muddy buddy mix was done, I was describing how delicious it was to everyone watching on zoom. I told them how I wished they could try it. Then I let them know that they actually COULD because there was a surprise sealed package of muddy buddy mix in everyone’s kit. The portion had been packed by Cindy and it fit perfectly into the Love You Always Treat Box. However, I’m quite certain that not everyone’s treat made it into the box because I saw several of our guests munching away minutes after the surprise was revealed. The surprise and delight on everyone’s faces really made my day!!!

I ended the event showing them some ways to package the muddy buddy mix. This gave me another opportunity to share some more images from the Hey Girlfriend Stamp Set.

Hey Girlfriend Boxes

I gave these boxes away as prizes along with some embellishments.

There was one more project in this class that I really loved. This project however was a bonus project that I made and placed in each kit. This sweet project was a gift card holder made out of Designer Paper. Each one used a different sheet of DSP, so they all looked colorful but different from one another. Here is a photo of two of them below.

The inside of these are REALLY cute. If you want to see it and learn how to make this project. Click on the video tutorial below.

As I concluded my event, I shared this quote with everyone.

“A Friend is someone who strengthens you with prayers, blesses you with love and encourages you with hope”.

I am glad that I can create projects with April’s fun Hey Girlfriend set, that are sure to brighten the day of the friends I will send them to.

All in all this event was perfect! I loved celebrating friendship with help from some dear friends and making projects that will be used to bless and brighten the lives of people near and dear to our hearts!

Stamped Blessings,

Cindy
