You're SO COOL

When I opened my April 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit, I thought it was really sweet. I love cards that have unique shapes and this kit provided a way to make cards shaped as popsicles, rainbows and watermelon slices! Just perfect for summer.

My first thought was to not make any alternative projects with this kit. However, after being encouraged by a friend I dug into my kit to see what I could make with it. Would you like to see what I created?

The first card I created featured the stamp set Cute Fruit. It was days away from retiring and I just had to find a way to use it a few more times. I knew the instant I saw the Popsicle that I wanted to make it smile.

For my next sample, I went a little out of the box with this Hula Pop card. I know not everyone will want to make a card like this but I thought of a sweet friend who loves hula and I knew she would appreciate this card. Plus, creating it gave me another opportunity to use the other smile stamp from the Cute Fruit Set!

I think it kind of looks like a fudge-cicle! Don’t you?

The next card I made reminded me of the Red, White and Blue Pops that are served at a backyard barbecue on the Fourth of July.

The next card was made by stamping 3 Popsicles and then using a punch to take bites out of them. It’s not as fun as actually biting a popsicle but it did provide a way for me to make an I miss you card without getting brain freeze!

When I created these four samples I didn’t have my kit yet. You see my March kit was SO COOL that it decided to take a little vacation in California for several days. While I waited for it to arrive, I borrowed the stamp set only from a friend who had received her kit.

When my kit finally arrived, I made some new samples with the rest of the items in the kit. Here is the first one I made.

To create this card I die cut a circle using the Tasteful Labels Dies out of one of the popsicle cards. I made sure to die cut it in a way that it wouldn’t ruin that cute shaped card base. Of course being a shave ice, this sample is my favorite.

This card is actually a hidden message card. When you open this card there is a “Happy Birthday” message behind the “You are So Cool” sentiment banner on the front.

Can you see how I used the part I cut out of the Popsicle to make the Shave Ice? That way I didn’t waste this cute card base.

For my next sample I decided to make a basic pop up gift card holder with a watermelon theme. The outside looks like this.

Does Starbucks make a Watermelon Refresher drink? If so, that would be the perfect way to use this gift card inside this cute watermelon themed card.

The next card I created was all about rainbows!!

The front of the card looked like this.

I used the envelope liner to provide a background design and I flipped one of the rainbow stickers upside down to make the letter “U”. I also couldn’t resist using one of the sweet girls from the Hey Girlfriend set. I think she’s pretty cool, don’t you?

When you open this card, it looks like this:

All in all I had a lot of fun with this colorful kit.

Sometimes it’s kind of hard to describe how I put the cards together. So, if you really want to learn how to make these, just click on this video tutorial.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you liked seeing what I did with the April 2021 kit. Since my May kit arrived on time, I will be sharing the alternative projects I created with it very soon!

Have a blessed holiday weekend everyone!

Stamped Blessings,

Cindy
