Ornaments For Hope
It has been 11 days since my Dad passed away. Thank you to all who have sent cards, and messages to express your condolences. Many have inquired as to how I am doing. Over all, I am doing well because I know my Dad is in a better place. Emotionally, I’ve been on a bit of a roller coaster ride. So, I’m just taking things one day at a time. I am so grateful for all the love that has been sent my way!
One of the things that has helped me to deal with my grief is to follow my Dad’s example of serving others. I am grateful that as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I am surrounded with many like minded, servant hearted people who love to use our products to create projects to bless others.
My team, Stamped With Aloha is so amazing. A couple of weeks ago I told them about an organization in Maui that was in need of cards to be sent along with their Meals On Wheels service. Many of those receiving this service are lonely right now due to the social distancing restrictions. My friend from Maui who requested the cards shared that people have been calling to say how much receiving a card with their meal has meant to them.
My Dad and Mom used to deliver food for Meals On Wheels, so being a part of this card drive means even more now because I know my Dad would have loved this idea.
The organization needed 250 cards. I put out a request to my team and in just a couple of weeks, I collected over 500 cards. Below is a photo of the overflowing boxes I will be putting in the mail this week. Aren’t they beautiful?
Thank you to each and everyone who sent cards either to me or mailed them directly to Maui. I know that they will be tremendously blessed by your effort.
Our next service project is one that is near and dear to my heart. We are creating Ornaments For Hope Lodge! Hope Lodge is a charitable project run by American Cancer Society. They offer cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when they are being treated in another location away from home.
Our goal in this service project is to create and bless Hope Lodge with 2,000 poinsettia ornaments that look like this.
The back of the ornaments look like this.
I’ve been working with my downline and friend Laura DuBois, brainstorming ways to make this effort a success! Laura and I have coordinated a Poinsettia Pledge A Thon. All of the information is listed on the Home Page of my website. There is information about the organization. A PDF supply list with photos and “Tips” on how to create your ornament and information about a LIVE thank you event happening on World Card Making Day, which is October 3rd. Laura and I will be going live on the Stamped With Aloha FaceBook Page at 8am, 10am, 12pm, and 2pm HST to share some card samples created with the Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle. Want to join us? Don’t forget to hit the “LIKE” button on the Stamped With Aloha Facebook Page.

We started out with a need of 1,500 RED and 500 WHITE Poinsettia Ornaments.
In just a few days we’ve had 15 people fill out the pledge form. So far, we’ve received 975 in pledges!! That is AWESOME in such a short time. So, thank you very much to all who have already offered to help and are busy die cutting flowers now to bless this worthy organization.
If you don’t own the products needed to help us in this effort, there is till time to order them. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Well, its time for me to get back to working on my ornaments!!!
I hope you all have a happy and blessed day!
With Love and Stamped Blessings,
Cindy
