Brett is a Good Man!
A few years ago, I was at home waiting to meet a new “friend” that my daughter was bringing to dinner. His name was Brett and every time she would mention him, there was always a smile. I heard a car outside and assumed it was my husband. I was prepared to remind him to “BE NICE” to our dinner guest. Suddenly, the front door opened. to my surprise, it was my daughter and her friend Brett!!
I don’t know what came over me but suddenly I felt super nervous! I am embarrassed to say that I broke out into a sweat as he approached with a bright smile and handed me a pineapple gift. Next thing you know, I was in the backyard showing him my garden, as I nervously rambled on and on about pineapples. God bless him for being so kind and attentive during this embarrassing rant. I knew right then, he was a good guy!
Dinner that night went well, except for the fact that he barely got to eat while my husband asked him a ton of questions!. Despite my husband grilling him, he remained calm and politely answered everything. Brett and Jess began a courtship, then they started officially dating and just a few days ago, they celebrated their 2nd Wedding Anniversary.
Brett is a wonderful young man whom we’ve come to love so much even though he someone managed to convince our daughter to stop cheering for the SeaHawks and start rooting for the Green Bay Packers! It’s probably a good thing that they are now united in marriage as well as their love for a football franchise!
Today, Brett is celebrating a milestone birthday, 30 years old. So, in honor of his love for Green Bay and because he is a good man, I used the A GOOD MAN stamp set to make him this card.
I used two new in-colors on this card. Bumblebee and Just Jade as they reminded me of “vintage” Packers colors. After I stamped the main image on a Whisper White piece of card stock, I stamped it again on the two new in Color pieces. I then fussy cut the clothing out and dressed this man in Brett’s favorite team colors.
Even though we don’t root for the same team that hasn’t stopped me from being so grateful for this young man. He has brought so much love, energy and excitement into our family gatherings. When I was battling cancer he was there for me at every treatment, always available to pick up food, to pray with me or just to make sure I had whatever I needed. He is a tremendous blessing and I am so grateful for him.
Jessica, like me, loves to plan special events to bless people. She has been hard at work to plan a special celebration for Brett today. This had to be creative due to all the quarantine rules still in effect. I can’t wait to hear all about his day and hope he enjoyed every moment of his special celebration.
You’re a Good Man Brett Nakasone! Happy 30th Birthday
Love,
Mom
