The Joyful Project Challenge

What brings your JOY? That is something we all need a little more of, especially during this holiday season. Would you agree?

Something that brings me a lot of joy is stamping virtually with my friend and team member Laura DuBois. We have been stamping virtually almost daily since the start of the pandemic. I consider this connection with Laura to be one of the blessings during a challenging season. It has been helpful to spend time together virtually, doing something that we love. It also gives us the opportunity to encourage and inspire one another. Sometimes when we meet, we challenge each other with project ideas and then we get to work coming up with our interpretation of the challenge. When it’s time for us to reveal our creations, it always brings us JOY.

Today, in order to spread a little JOY to all of you, we decided to share a recorded version of our latest stamping challenge. In this JOYFUL challenge, I asked Laura to come up with a 3D JOY project. I then shared with her my JOY project to get her creative wheels turning.

Here is the project I shared with Laura.

Joy to the World Dish Soap Box

This little box was created with an 8 x 8 piece of Shaded Spruce Card Stock that was scored at 2” on each side. I used the Peace and Joy Bundle to stamp and die cut pieces to create a little tag for the front. I finished this project by filling it with a mini Joy dish soap, a sponge and rubber gloves, to provide a practical and useful gift.

In my challenge to Laura, I suggested she use Almond Joy candies. Laura wasn’t a fan of this candy but as it turns out her husband was and he had some mini bars in the house that she could use. Within a very short amount of time Laura came up with the MOST adorable projects.

The original project was created with the Snowman Season Bundle. Laura liked this project but felt like she wanted to keep working on it so that it would coordinate with the colors of the candy bar wrapper a little more. I just love both of these projects, don’t you?

Inside this little project are mini Almond Joy candies. To see the inside of the project, you’ll have to watch the video attached below.

In the video you will learn that the project on the left was inspired by a Christmas card Laura had been working on prior to the challenge. Just look at how gorgeous this card is.

Since this was my challenge to Laura you will see my complete demo of the Joy dish soap box in the video below. Laura will show all her projects in detail after my demonstration.

If you watch the video you will see that Laura and I always have a lot of fun stamping together even though we live thousands of miles apart.

In this season you may feel down because you can’t be with your friends or loved ones but why not give Zoom, Face Time or Facebook Messenger a try. Laura and I have been friends for over 20 years but it was only this year, during this circumstance that we started stamping together this way. It has been such a blessing and has brought us both a lot of joy. I hope that our challenge will challenge you to not just make some fun projects but also find creative ways to connect with those you love, especially during this holiday season.

With peace, love and JOY,

Cindy
