Pumpkin Pals
When the signs at Starbucks go up announcing the arrival of their Fall drinks, I always think of my friend Karin who is a huge fan of Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Karin celebrated her birthday in the beginning of September. We weren’t able to plan our annual dinner out due to Covid 19 restrictions but that didn’t stop us from blessing our pal with a pumpkin themed present!
It made us happy to see her bright smile after finding our gift on her front porch.
Like Karin, I too am a HUGE fan of pumpkins. So, I was thrilled when I saw that the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit was called, Hello Pumpkin.
I sometimes skip Paper Pumpkin in September because I don’t usually have a need for Halloween Projects. However, the September 2020 kit was perfect, because it had a mixture of Fall themed supplies to work with and not just Halloween.
Today, I am going to share with you all of the different projects I created with the September 2020 Hello Pumpkin kit.
The first project is a white pumpkin card that I made using the stamp set that came in the kit. The layered tags were created using the Hippo and Friends dies.
I love layering white on white, especially when you add texture. This card features texture from the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.
Project number 2 is a Thanksgiving card. I cut one of the cracker boxes in the kit and used it as a background piece.
Using that same section of the cracker box, I also created some cute little pumpkin pouches. These first two are perfect little Halloween treats. I filled them with chocolate.
Since I didn’t really have need for Halloween treats, I was inspired to create a different version of this project. Instead of the Jack-o-lantern stamp, I added an adorable face stamp from the Cute Fruit stamp set.
Doesn’t this happy little pumpkin pouch make you smile? This pouch is the perfect size for a Ghiradelli Chocolate Square. I like that these pouches are flat, so that makes them easy to mail. I rounded all the corners of all of the pouches with the Detailed Trio Punch.
Seeing the sweet face on this little pouch inspired me to create some punch art Pumpkin Pals. This is the first one I created.
This punch art girl was so easy. I used only 2 punches. A 2” Circle Punch and a 2 1/4” Circle Punch. The cracker boxes can be easily cut to create clothes as well as bows for the hair. I added some of the punch out flowers and rhinestones to the bows for extra sparkle.
Pumpkin Pal #2 is this little cutie pie here.
I featured the gingham side of the cracker box to create her outfit. I added 2 punched out 1 1/2” circles to create her hair.
Meet Pumpkin Pal #3.
Rather than give this Pumpkin Pals bows, I adorned her hair with a flower crown. Isn’t she cute?
I loved how these Pumpkin Pals came out. Here they are all together. They are not socially distanced and not wearing masks which gives me hope for a day when we will be able to gather like this once again!
Since the products that come in the Paper Pumpkin kit are limited, I wanted to recreate this card with other supplies that I had in my studio. By doing so, Pumpkin Pal #4 was born.
Do you see the resemblance? In the card on the right, I used Playing With Patterns DSP and the Harvest Hello stamp set. For the clothes and bows I used the coordinating Apple Builder Punch. Now, I can continue to make this cute punch art girl even after the supplies in my September Paper Pumpkin kit are gone.

So, by now you probably have Pumpkin on the brain and perhaps like my Pal Karin you are craving a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Well, I have a solution for you.
Did you know Starbucks makes Via Instant Pumpkin Spice Latte Packets? These are the perfect little Fall gifts or favors to bless someone with. With help from master box maker Zeny Lucey, I created these Pumpkin Spice Latte Boxes.
This box was made out of a 6 x 7 3/4 piece of card stock and supplies that came from the Hello Pumpkin Kit.
Knowing that I’d want to make more of this project, I designed a second box using my Harvest Hello Stamp Set and Apple Builder Punch.
You know I had to add the Cute Fruit Stamp set to create these happy Pumpkin Pals.
Want to learn how to create this box? Here is a video tutorial that features both of these designs.
Well, you may not be able to visit a Pumpkin Patch this year, but I hope by visiting this post you were inspired by all the Pumpkin Projects you saw.
Like my Pal Karin, I love Pumpkin Spice everything too! I even found a way to make my favorite vegan pancakes into pumpkin flavored ones!
This Fall season certainly is going to look different than the ones we are used to, but don’t let that get you down. Take some advice from a pumpkin. “Be well rounded, get plenty of sunshine and keep growing”.
Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes,
Cindy
