Formula One Technique
Today I want to share with you a quick method for putting a set of cards together. I call it my Formula One Technique. This is the technique I use when I am short on time and want to create cards that are fast to make. This technique works best when using any of our fabulous Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers. It is also the perfect technique for creating coordinating sets of cards.
Formula One technique is basically a color blocking technique. I used it to create the base layer on this entire set of cards.

Do you see that all of the base layers of these cards have the same dimensions? Here are the measurements for the Formula One technique.
Designer Series Paper - 3 x 5 1/4 Solid Card Stock - 1 x 5 1/4
Just take a standard size card, that has been folded in half to the top layer is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Then add the Formula One Dimensions as described above. For the focal point use any size card stock depending on what stamp you use to finish your card. The Formula One is a fast way to create the base layer on cards.
These cards were created for a special event where I was highlighting our Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper.

The first card was created using a set that is a part of the Naturally Eclectic Suite called Oh So Eclectic. I fussy cut a coordinating flower and embellished it with one of our gold faceted gems. I just love these gems, this one works perfectly to add an dimension and texture to the front of this card.
The next card was created using the Happiest of Days stamp set.

The birthday gifts were colored with our Stampin' Write markers and Basic Rhinestone Jewels were added to the bows on each gift.
Card number three uses the cute jeweled piece of the Designer Series Paper.

I added a rhinestone to the center of a punched flower to embellish this fabulous fashionista who comes from the stamp set Beautiful You!
I changed direction on this butterfly card and put the one inch strip along the bottom front of this card.

This is the only card that required a Big Shot because I used a framelit to cut out the Butterfly from Butterfly Basics Bundle so that it would look more three dimensional.
This technique is super simple and has made creating cards with Designer Series Paper so simple, quick and fun.
